Weddings
We have space for up to 160 seated guests for your ceremony and dining. However, the byre is very flexible and is made up of various separate spaces so we can easily cater for smaller weddings too. Request a Brochure to see the floorplan and further information.
We ask that you book the entire byre to ensure exclusivity on your important day! However due to the flexible layout we are able to close off areas you do not wish to use which will give you an intimate setting.
In Scotland you are able to get married in any location without a wedding licence. Therefore you are able to pick your spot to the tie the knot wherever you choose within the grounds of Rossie. It is however a legal requirement for you to complete a Marriage Notice. The marriage must be conducted by a registrar or an approved celebrant in the presence of two witnesses. Its up to the bride and groom to organise this.
We are happy for you to bring your own wine and fizz for your reception drinks up until the end of your supper for a small corkage fee which covers the storing, chilling and serving of this alcohol plus the provision of all glassware on the day. After supper our awesome bar will be open which you can either pre-pay for or you can choose to have a cash bar. The bar can of course be opened up earlier should you wish! Please note guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol.
Of course! Wherever you choose to have your dancefloor we have power available. There is plenty of space in all areas of the byre for any type or tempo of dancing and reeling – whatever you like! Music does however need to stop at midnight in line with the closing of licensed bar.
We will provide a site manager who will ensure your day runs smoothly by keeping a close eye on heating, power, lighting and security etc… However, we do not offer a wedding planning service so you will need do this yourself (cue bridesmaids/ushers!) or by bringing your own wedding planner.
Yes, there is a West-facing terrace and landscaped courtyard at the front of the byre and a small courtyard/garden area with festoon lighting at the back. If the sun is shining, why not have your drinks and canapés overlooking the fields and the Ochil Hills beyond! Once amplified music is playing, all external doors will need to be kept shut except for access and egress in line with our noise management plan.
Cars can be left overnight at the byre but they must be collected by 12 noon the following day, unless you have extended the hire of the venue. Please see our terms and conditions.
Due to licensing laws, last orders for the bar will be 11.45pm with the bar closing at midnight. We request all guests vacate the premises by 12.15am. Please see our terms and conditions.
Efficient and quiet portable heaters are available in the byre which can be moved around in line with your set up. These certainly keep each room nice and warm (but not too warm!) There is also a log burner in the dining room and a fire pit for the courtyard.
For a wedding at Rossie on the Earn we require you to book all our available accommodation (sleeping 16 in total). The farmhouse right next door has ample space for you to prepare! Request a brochure for more information.
If you are keen to bring your friendly pet along for your wedding day that’s ok with advance warning. Apart from guide dogs, we ask that only the bride/groom bring their pet which can come in to the byre but needs to be on a lead (If applicable!) when outside.
Plenty! There is also a bus drop off/collection area.
The venue hire is for 2.5 days as per our Terms and Conditions. That said, the use of the byre and all our accommodation can be extended for a pre or post-wedding get together. Email hello@rossie.info
Pickled Haggis run our bar and they will provide all glassware for your wedding. Once your booking is confirmed we will put you in touch with Pickled Haggis who will send you drinks list and some FAQs. If you have any special drinks requests then this can be sourced by the bar team in advance of your wedding. We want you to have what you want on your important day!
You are free to choose your own caterer for your wedding to allow you to curate your own menu within your budget. We will provide a preferred caterer list but you may find efficiencies by choosing Pickled Haggs for your catering as they also run Rossie byre.
